RAWALPINDI: On 8 January 2026, eleven khwarij belonging to the Indian proxy Fitna Al Khwarij were killed in two separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province.
Following reports of the presence of khwarij, an intelligence-based operation (IBO) was conducted by the Security Forces in North Waziristan District. During the operation, troops effectively engaged the khwarij location and, after an intense exchange of fire, six khwarij were sent to hell.
In another joint intelligence-based operation carried out by Police and Security Forces in Kurram District, five khwarij were effectively neutralised during the ensuing fire exchange.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered from the killed Indian-sponsored khwarij, who were actively involved in numerous terrorist activities against Security Forces, Law Enforcement Agencies, and the targeted killing of innocent civilians.
Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Indian-sponsored kharji found in the area. The relentless counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”—as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan—will continue at full pace. Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies of Pakistan remain determined to wipe out the menace of foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism from the country.
