Dera Ismail Khan: Regional Police Officer (RPO) Dera, Ghulam Mubashir Mekan, has stated that the media plays a vital role in society, and the police are ready to make every sacrifice to protect the life, property, and dignity of citizens. He emphasized that terrorists aim to weaken the state and its institutions, but unity among the nation and security forces will defeat their malicious intentions.
He expressed these views during a special meeting with media representatives at Ejaz Shaheed Police Lines. District Police Officer (DPO) Ziauddin Ahmad and SP City Muhammad Nauman were also present on the occasion. Journalists presented various questions and suggestions regarding crime control and police performance, which the RPO addressed in detail.
The RPO highlighted that Dera Range police face multiple challenges, including terrorism, but remain fully prepared to tackle them. He noted that 257 police personnel have embraced martyrdom in the line of duty, calling them a source of pride.
He further stated that the Safe City Project has been given a completion deadline of May 7, 2026. He added that the people of Dera Ismail Khan stand firmly with the police and security institutions. Reaffirming commitment, he said the police will continue their efforts to eliminate crime and terrorism with full public cooperation to ensure lasting peace.
