PRCS KP Marks Earth Day with Climate Workshop Pakistan Red Crescent Society KP

PESHAWAR: On the occasion of International Earth Day, the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Branch, organized an Environmental Awareness Workshop in Provincial Headquarters under its Climate Advocacy & Coordination for Resilient Action (CACRA Phase III) project. The project is funded by German Red Cross (GRC) and BMZ.
The workshop, held under the global theme “Our Power Is Our Planet,” brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on pressing environmental challenges and practical solutions for climate resilience. Participants included Chairman PRCS KP Farzand Ali Wazir, PRCS KP Provincial Secretary Abid Rahman Marwat, representatives of Water and Sanitation Services Peshawar (WSSP), media professionals, PRCS volunteers, and Provincial Headquarters (PHQ) staff.
The session focused on actionable strategies such as the promotion of renewable energy, development of climate-resilient infrastructure, improved water management, and ecological restoration. Speakers emphasized the importance of nature-based solutions and responsible environmental practices to strengthen vulnerable communities against the growing impacts of climate change.
Addressing the participants, the speakers highlighted the organization’s commitment to environmental sustainability and community resilience. They underlined the need for collaborative efforts among government bodies, development partners, and civil society to effectively respond to climate-related challenges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The workshop concluded with a shared commitment from all stakeholders to enhance coordination and advocacy for a greener, more resilient future.
