JUI Digital Media Coordinator Zia-ur-Rehman Slams KP Government, Announces Mass Participation in Mufti Mahmood Conference

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Coordinator of the Digital Media Committee of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI), Engineer Maulana Zia-ur-Rehman, has said that the people of Dera Ismail Khan will fully participate in the upcoming Mufti Mahmood Conference at Baisakhi Ground on October 16, 2025, to pay homage to the services of Maulana Mufti Mahmood for Islam and the region.

Speaking to the media at his residence in Shorkot, he strongly criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, saying that institutions have become hotbeds of corruption and that “the existence of the provincial government is meaningless.” He added that Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur is a “dummy and puppet” who came into power through deals with benefactors.

Zia-ur-Rehman alleged that development schemes are being openly sold, while mega projects in Dera Ismail Khan—including Mufti Mahmood Hospital, DHQ Hospital, Gomal Medical College, Dinar Cancer Hospital, Gomal University, Agriculture University, CPEC Road, and Tehsil Hospitals—were all initiated under JUI’s leadership and not by PTI.

He further claimed that PTI’s sewerage line project collapsed after a single rainfall and that other initiatives, such as the flyover project, remain incomplete. “The people of Dera Ismail Khan will not fall again for PTI’s hollow slogans,” he remarked.

Responding to a question, he said that he had earlier remained away from active politics due to government service but is now fully engaged as an ideological worker of JUI. “I will continue to play my role wherever the party requires, as I am bound by its decisions,” he added.

On the occasion, JUI Tehsil Ameer Kafeel Ahmed Nizami, General Secretary Qari Umair Farooqi, Hamood-ur-Rehman, and other leaders were also present.
