Cloud bursts and its impact on economy

Cloud bursts is sudden and intense rapid release of rain. Heavy rain, flash flooding, and destructive power. Cloud bursts have a devastating impact on economy, affecting the various sectors of economy. It damages the infrastructure, collapse roads, break bridges, and wash-away.

Power lines disrupts essential services. It leads to the significant economic loss. Agriculture loss in flash flooding, destroying standing crops, irrigation channels and livestock which directly hits household means of the local economy. Where tourism contributes to the local economy, cloud bursts lead to mass cancellations, empty hotels and standard visitors causing substantial financial loss.

Cloud burst disrupts the tourist activities. It damages or destroys tourist infrastructure, hotels, resorts & restaurants. The tourism can have a negative impact on the economy. It can destroy the industrial facilities including factories, warehouses, and manufacturing plants. Flood water disrupts supply chains which affects the delivery of goods and services.

It Increases the costs for logistic companies, including cost associated with replacing damaged infrastructure and equipment, it can also lead to a loss of revenue for logistic companies and their customers. Cloud-based solutions can lead to an increased focus on risk management in logistic operations.

The big trauma in economy is loss of revenue, increased poverty, inflation & unemployment, so we can reduce the impact of cloud burst by building more resilient communities like investing in flood-resilient infrastructure, implement urban planning strategies such as zoning regulations and floodplain management. Early warning system that can detect cloud bursts and provide timely warning to affected communities. Conducting a regular disaster management assessments is also another way that can reduce the impact.

To identify cloud burst-borne areas with local community for awaking about cloud burst risks and to promote disaster risk reduction practices. In agriculture sector, to promote sustainable agriculture practices which reduce soil erosion and improve water retention. Flood-control measures, levees and flood walls, to protect agriculture. Provide crop insurance to farmers to protect them against crop losses due to cloud bursts.

To provide them livelihood support to affected communities including cash transfer and vocational training. To provide psychological support to affected communities including counseling and trauma care. To develop and use advanced technologies, satellite imaging and machine to predict cloud bursts, flood monitoring sensors and drones to monitor floods.

To install levels meters and provide real-time and date to emergency responders. Develop and use resilient construction materials that can withstand flash water and strong wind. By adopting these measures, we can reduce the vulnerability of our communities to floods, cloud bursts, and other frequent disasters, for ensuring a more resilient future.
