Karachi: In a major operation carried out in the Katcha area of Kot Shaho, Shikarpur Police successfully rescued 11 year old girl Hooram Saeed Pathan. According to police officials, IGP Sindh had taken notice of reports circulating on social media regarding the kidnapping of the minor girl and directed SSP Shikarpur to ensure her safe recovery.
According to SSP Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem Malik, the kidnapping case of the minor girl had been registered on March 28 at Mominabad Police Station. Acting on information, Shikarpur Police launched a targeted operation in the Katcha area, which led to several significant breakthroughs over two consecutive days.
On the first day of the operation, notorious dacoit Yaseen Banglani, wanted in 29 criminal cases, was killed during an exchange of fire with police. During the same operation, Lahore resident Jennifer Ammar Masih was rescued safely. Police officials said she had allegedly been lured and abducted under the pretext of a medical job opportunity. Several other suspects were also reportedly injured during the encounter.
Police continued the operation in the riverine belt for a second consecutive day, resulting in the safe recovery of 11 year old Hooram within 48 hours. During the second phase of the operation, alleged interprovincial kidnapper and gang member Mulla Abdul Waheed was killed. SSP Muhammad Kaleem Malik stated that the suspect was allegedly involved in trafficking abducted girls within the Katcha region and was wanted in seven criminal cases across different districts.
Speaking to the media SSP stated that there are currently no “no go areas” in Shikarpur district and that the overall law and order situation has improved significantly. He emphasized that no leniency would be shown towards criminal elements operating in the area.
Meanwhile, IGP Sindh Javed Alam Odho praised DIG Larkana, SSP Shikarpur and the entire team for the successful operation. He announced cash rewards and commendation certificates for the officers and personnel who participated in the rescue operation.
