ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi met Pakistan’s renowned adventure athlete and snowboarder Samar Khan to discuss the promotion of adventure sports, winter sports, youth engagement in sports, and tourism development in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on expanding opportunities for adventure sports across the province and encouraging greater participation of young people in healthy outdoor activities.
Governor Faisal Karim Kundi said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, with its breathtaking natural beauty, snow-covered mountains, and diverse landscapes, possesses immense potential to become a leading destination for adventure and winter sports. He noted that promoting activities such as snowboarding, mountain biking, trekking, rock climbing, and other adventure sports would not only provide constructive opportunities for youth but also boost tourism and strengthen the local economy.
The Governor also commended Samar Khan for her outstanding achievements at both national and international levels, describing her as an inspiration for aspiring athletes across the country.
Samar Khan thanked the Governor for his support and said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa offers vast opportunities for the promotion of adventure and winter sports. She appreciated Governor Faisal Karim Kundi’s commitment to encouraging and supporting athletes and expressed hope that greater institutional backing would help young talent excel on national and international platforms.
