PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister for Home and Tribal Affairs Tariq Saeed Marwat, acting on the directives of Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Khan Afridi, inaugurated the Legal Aid Agency at the Directorate of Prosecution in Peshawar.
Established under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Legal Aid Agency Act, 2019, the Agency became operational on 1 July 2026 and will provide free legal assistance to deserving citizens in criminal and family cases through accredited lawyers across the province. During the visit, officials also briefed the delegation on ongoing prosecution reforms and justice sector initiatives.
Tariq Saeed Marwat reaffirmed the provincial government’s commitment to strengthening the criminal justice system, enhancing the capacity of the Prosecution Service, and expanding access to transparent, affordable, and free legal aid across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
