Dr Liaqat Ali, others facilitate participants from Pakistan and abroad

PESHAWAR: The 11th Annual Research and Paper Writing Skills Workshop was arranged at the Institute of Kidney Diseases (IKD), Hayatabad from July 13-17, 2026 under the guidance and mentorship of renowned urologist, researcher, and medical educationist Prof Dr Liaqat Ali.
The 5-day hands on research workshop was facilitated by Prof Dr Iqbal Haider, Prof Dr Zakiudin Ahmed, Dr Rubab. Around 100 participants attended the workshop. For the first time, international students participated via zoom. All the participants were facilitated with the core knowledge of translational research. At the end, prizes, shields, and certificates were presented to the facilitators, organizers, and participants.
It is to be mentioned here that this workshop has been a regular educational activity at the IKD under the mentorship of Dr Liaqat Ali since 2015.
Several other achievements are also at his credit. In the month of July, he performed 150 complex cancer and stone surgeries at the IKD by making a big record. Similarly, he conducted three workshops, including two on innovative treatment modalities for prostate and urethral stricture disease. He introduced Rezum and then Paclitaxel Coated Balloon Catheters as true minimal invasive treatment for Benign Prostatic Enlargement for the first time in KP.
