PESHAWAR: The five-day Kohat Inter-District Sports Championship, organized by the Regional Sports Office Kohat, concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from teams representing Kohat, Lachi, Dara Adam Khel and Gumbat.
Deputy Commissioner Kohat Muhammad Nawaz attended the closing ceremony as chief guest and distributed trophies, medals and cash prizes among the winning players and teams. Regional Sports Officer Muhammad Asad and other officials were also present.
Gumbat Football Club won the football title, Malik Tiger Cricket Club emerged as cricket champions, while Jarma Club claimed the volleyball championship.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz said sports play a vital role in promoting healthy activities among youth and assured continued support for organizing sporting events and developing local talent.
Regional Sports Officer Muhammad Asad said the championship aimed to identify young talent, encourage healthy competition and promote sports at the grassroots level.
