PESHAWAR: Corps Commander Peshawar visited the Central Police Office (CPO), where he was warmly received by Inspector General of Police Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Zulfiqar Hameed, along with Additional IGPs, DIGs and other senior police officers. A smartly turned-out police contingent presented a guard of honour, while the Corps Commander laid a floral wreath at the Police Martyrs’ Memorial and offered prayers for the fallen heroes.
During a high-level meeting, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed briefed the Corps Commander on the province’s overall law and order situation, ongoing counterterrorism operations, intelligence-based policing, security of sensitive installations and public places, and the use of advanced command and control systems, drones and anti-drone technology. He also highlighted plans to introduce smart, technology-driven and citizen-friendly policing in five districts before expanding the model across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The IGP further outlined welfare initiatives for police personnel, including improved training, modern protective equipment, better residential and medical facilities, and continued support for the families of police martyrs.
The Corps Commander commended the KP Police for its professionalism, bravery and unmatched sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He expressed full confidence in the force and reaffirmed that the Pakistan Army and KP Police would continue working together through coordinated strategies and modern resources to eliminate terrorism, protect the public and ensure lasting peace across the province.
