Professor Dr. Javed Akram Announces Ambulance for PIMS Retired Employees -

ISLAMABAD: Former Punjab Health Minister and former Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University Islamabad, Professor Dr. Javed Akram, has announced donating an ambulance to the PIMS Retired Employees Welfare Association to support the medical and welfare needs of retired employees.
Speaking as chief guest at a ceremony organized by the association, Dr. Javed Akram said PIMS employees had spent a major part of their professional lives serving humanity and their valuable contributions could never be forgotten.
He said doctors, nurses, paramedics, administrative staff and other employees had played a significant role in the development of PIMS and in providing healthcare to patients. He added that retired employees remained a valuable asset of both the institution and society.
The announcement came after Patron-in-Chief of the association, Dr. Mansoor Ahmed, highlighted the urgent need for an ambulance for retired employees and appealed to the administration and philanthropists to extend support.
Dr. Javed Akram assured the association of his continued cooperation and said he would visit Islamabad every six months to review its welfare activities and provide assistance according to his capacity. He also stressed the need for improved medical facilities and other welfare initiatives for retired employees.
He said those who had devoted their lives to the construction, development and service of PIMS deserved care, respect and support after retirement.
Association President Dr. Ashok and General Secretary Dr. Hanif said the organization aimed to resolve the problems of retired employees and provide them with medical and welfare facilities. They termed the ambulance an important requirement for achieving these objectives.
The participants warmly appreciated Dr. Javed Akram’s announcement, describing it as a valuable gift for retired employees and an important step towards strengthening the association’s welfare activities.
The ceremony was attended by retired and serving PIMS employees, doctors, professors, nurses, paramedics and other distinguished personalities. Professor Dr. Tanveer Khalique of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto Medical University, Zia-ur-Rehman Lodhi, Mirza Muhammad Akmal, Hafiz Muhammad Bilal Malik Tanveer Naushahi and Waqar Hussain also addressed the gathering.
The association’s Press Secretary, Malik Tanveer Naushahi, efficiently performed the duties of master of ceremonies and helped conduct the event smoothly.
