KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s emerging squash player Muhammad Shamlan Gul has produced an impressive run on the PSA Satellite and Challenger circuits, reaching three finals and winning one tournament title in four consecutive events.
Shamlan finished runner-up at the inaugural Qayyum Gul PSA Satellite Tournament in Rawalpindi and followed it with another Silver Medal at the inaugural Shams-ul-Qamar PSA Satellite Tournament in Peshawar.
His biggest success came in Karachi, where he won the Aproxera PSA Satellite Tournament to claim the Gold Medal and title. He also registered a major upset in a PSA Challenger event by defeating the top-seeded player.
Shamlan is now set to join the National Senior Training Camp at the National Squash Academy, Islamabad, where he will train alongside leading senior and internationally ranked players.
He thanked the Pakistan Squash Federation, its officials, and his father and coach Rehman Gul for their support and guidance. Shamlan said he remained focused on further improving his game and representing Pakistan at the international level.
