PESHAWAR : The Literary Sikandari Literary Caravan (ISAK) organized a prestigious literary event at which renowned poet and writer Bushra Farukh and prominent poet, writer and journalist Rokhan Yousafzai were presented Lifetime Achievement Awards in recognition of their literary services. The event comprised two sessions and was attended by writers, poets, literary figures and people with a keen interest in literature.
The first session was presided over by ISAK President Professor Dr. Sher Zaman Simab. Dr. Ahmad Gul Momand had the honor of reciting verses from the Holy Quran, while Tabinda Farukh presented a Naat in praise of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), adding a spiritual atmosphere to the gathering. Renowned Urdu short-story writer and critic Professor Dr. Zubair Shah was the chief guest of the first session.
On the occasion, Dr. Zubair Shah and Dr. Shaukat Mahmood spoke about Bushra Farukh’s literary work and personality, paying tribute to her contributions to literature. Later, ISAK founder Bilal Sikandari and President Professor Dr. Sher Zaman Simab presented Bushra Farukh with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
During the ceremony, chief guest Professor Dr. Zubair Shah also presented a gold medal to Tabinda Farukh, author of the travelogue “Hisar-e-Ishq.” Speaking on the occasion, Bushra Farukh said that the literary activities initiated by ISAK were highly commendable and that the real award for her was the love and affection shown by the members of ISAK. ISAK founder Bilal Sikandari expressed his gratitude to Bushra Farukh for her participation and encouragement.
The second session was also presided over by ISAK President Dr. Sher Zaman Simab. Renowned writer Javed Iqbal Gilani was the chief guest, while noted poet Namroze Qais was the guest of honor. Fazal Momand presented a written sketch highlighting the literary work and personality of Rokhan Yousafzai.
Javed Iqbal Gilani, Namroze Qais and Rokhan Yousafzai, in their remarks, appreciated the literary efforts of ISAK founder Bilal Sikandari and assured him of their fullest moral and financial support for the literary platform. Subsequently, Bilal Sikandari and Dr. Sher Zaman Simab presented Rokhan Yousafzai with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
During the second session, chief guest Javed Iqbal Gilani presented a gold medal to Roshan Shah Qalamyar, while Namroze Qais presented a gold medal to renowned columnist Munawar Shah Munawar. At the conclusion, ISAK founder Bilal Sikandari and President Dr. Sher Zaman Simab thanked all the guests and participants for attending the event.
The ceremony concluded with tea being served to the participants. The organizers expressed their resolve to continue holding such meaningful literary gatherings in the future to promote literature and culture.
