PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar has warned that the party would not remain silent if workers were killed during its planned march on Islamabad, saying, “This time, if bodies fall, we will turn Islamabad into Somnath.” His remarks were reported on September 20, 2026, during a workers’ address in Peshawar.
Junaid Akbar said PTI workers would approach Islamabad through multiple routes, including the motorway, GT Road, the Margalla hills and from Dera Ismail Khan.
Referring to the previous protest, he said the party had been in a state of shock and had viewed the state as a mother, without anticipating that firing could take place. He said workers had returned after carrying the bodies of their colleagues.
“We know the state will fire,” he said, adding that this time the situation would be different and the party would not quietly bury its dead and return.
The PTI leader’s remarks come ahead of the party’s announced September 27 march on Islamabad. Earlier, he had said PTI workers would remain in the capital until their demands, including the release of Imran Khan, were met.
