Karachi: The investigation into the killing of a mother and her three children in Surjani Town and a major drug seizure have received recognition as significant breakthroughs in tackling serious crime. Inspector General of Police Sindh Javed Alam Odho awarded commendation certificates to officers and personnel of District West Police and the Special Investigation Unit recognising their investigative work and operational performance.
At the Central Police Office, IGP Odho awarded commendation certificates to DIG West Irfan Baloch, SSP SIU Samiullah Soomro, SSP West Tariq Ilahi Mastoi and members of the respective police teams. IGP praised the West Police for resolving the murder case through professional investigation and effective evidence gathering, leading to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator. He also commended the SIU for its action against the narcotics saying the recovery of a large quantity of drugs reflected the force’s operational strategy, professional capability and determination to combat crime.
Odho said the dedication, professional competence and commitment shown by police officers and personnel in the fight against crime deserved recognition. He added that acknowledging outstanding performance not only encouraged the individuals involved but also strengthened the wider force’s resolve to improve its performance. He said the Sindh Police would continue recognising officers and personnel who demonstrate exceptional performance in combating crime.
A day earlier, Karachi Police Chief Azad Khan had also commended the West Police team for its action against the suspect allegedly involved in the murder case. The AIG Karachi presented an appreciation letter to SSP West, while the personnel involved in the operation received commendation certificates (CC-I) and cash rewards.
The Karachi police chief praised the team’s prompt response and said that officers and personnel demonstrating bravery and professional excellence in the discharge of their duties would continue to be encouraged and recognised.
