PESHAWAR : The Pakistan Muslim League (Q) has expressed serious concern over the prevailing political, administrative and law-and-order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, warning that pushing the province into continued political confrontation could have dangerous consequences. Disruptions to educational activities, government institutions and routine life are a matter of serious concern for the people of the province, particularly for the future of the younger generation.
During a discussion between PML-Q Central Information Secretary Ghulam Mustafa Malik and the party’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Intikhab Khan, the overall situation in the province was reviewed. It was noted that disruptions to matriculation examinations, impediments to the functioning of government offices and other institutions, and continued political tension indicate that the provincial administrative system is under severe pressure.
Intikhab Khan said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was already facing serious law-and-order challenges and, under such circumstances, the provincial government should focus on public issues, education, health and administrative affairs instead of protest politics. He said it was unacceptable for ordinary citizens and students to face difficulties because of political activities.
Ghulam Mustafa Malik said the federal government and relevant constitutional institutions should take notice of the situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and take necessary measures to ensure the safety and security of the people, continuity of education and uninterrupted provision of essential state services. He said political differences should be resolved not through force or confrontation, but through dialogue, the Constitution and democratic processes.
He said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were already facing insecurity and administrative difficulties, and political forces should demonstrate responsibility by helping reduce tensions and restore normal life in the province.
The PML-Q leaders stressed that the problems faced by the people of the province should not be sacrificed at the altar of political interests, and all stakeholders should seek solutions through dialogue.
