PESHAWAR: Federal Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Engineer Amir Muqam, while addressing a large joining ceremony in Peshawar, said that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have proven today that they stand with PML-N for the province’s development, peace, and stability. He welcomed former ANP candidate for the National Assembly, Arbab Zain Umar, along with his family and thousands of supporters, into the PML-N fold, calling their inclusion a sign of growing public confidence in the party’s vision for progress.
Engineer Amir Muqam said that joining PML-N in such challenging times reflects the political maturity and awareness of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s people, who now realize that only PML-N can guarantee the province’s and the country’s prosperous future. He added that the inclusion of an educated, capable, and visionary leader like Arbab Zain Umar would further strengthen the party’s presence in the province.
The Federal Minister launched a scathing criticism of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), accusing them of destroying the province during their 13 years in power. “There is no sign of good governance; institutions are paralyzed, and the people have been deceived,” he said. Muqam lamented that the provincial chief minister cannot even form a cabinet without seeking permission from a jailed individual — a situation he termed as “an insult to the people and democracy.”
He said the PTI-led government had completely failed in education, healthcare, security, and employment. “The youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been deprived of laptops, scholarships, and job opportunities, while the chief minister’s entire focus is on tug-of-war politics with Islamabad and securing his leader’s release,” he remarked. Muqam said the provincial government must prioritize the rights and welfare of the people instead of serving a “prisoner’s agenda,” and should present a comprehensive plan to combat terrorism, restore peace, and secure the future of its youth.
Engineer Amir Muqam accused PTI of distorting the historical identity and sacrifices of the Pashtun people. He reminded that the Pashtuns have made immense sacrifices for Pakistan — thousands have laid down their lives for the country’s defense — and that they remain Pakistan’s strongest foundation.
He emphasized that Pakistan is one unified state and that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is an integral part of it. “No one has the right to spread hatred among the people or to poison their minds against the country’s institutions,” he warned, adding that any attempt to create mistrust against the Pakistan Army and state institutions serves the enemy’s agenda.
Muqam said Pakistan today stands at a juncture where unity and national cohesion are more essential than ever. He paid glowing tribute to the leadership of Field Marshal General Asim Munir, stating that under his command, Pakistan’s armed forces have rendered tremendous sacrifices and defeated the enemies on every front. “If Pakistan stands strong today, it is because of the bravery, discipline, and leadership of our armed forces,” he declared.
The Federal Minister also lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, calling him a visionary and hardworking leader striving tirelessly for Pakistan’s economic recovery, national unity, and public welfare. He said the strong coordination and trust between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal General Asim Munir is a clear sign that Pakistan is moving in the right direction. “This unity is the true guarantee of Pakistan’s stability and progress,” he asserted.
Engineer Amir Muqam said that Mian Nawaz Sharif is the leader who gave Pakistan motorways, energy projects, peace, and national development. “The politics of PML-N is based not on lies and chaos, but on service, stability, and progress,” he added.
Concluding his address, Muqam said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa must now decide whether they want to continue the politics of chaos and hatred or choose the path of peace, prosperity, and progress. “PML-N is the only party capable of lifting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa out of backwardness and setting it on the road to development,” he stated.
He urged everyone to unite for the common goal of building a strong, peaceful, and prosperous Pakistan. “This is the vision of Nawaz Sharif, the mission of Shehbaz Sharif, and the dream of every patriotic Pakistani,” he said before leading the crowd in resounding chants of:
Pakistan Zindabad! Muslim League (N) Zindabad!
