MARDAN: Commissioner Nisar Ahmad has directed a vigorous campaign against the sale of substandard and unhygienic food items across Mardan district. The decision was made during an important meeting held at the Commissioner’s Office, Mardan Division, chaired by the Commissioner himself.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner Mardan Wasif Rehman, Secretary to Commissioner Fazal Wahid, Assistant to Commissioner Revenue Dawood Khan, District Coordinator Public Health Dr. Rubina Riaz, Deputy Director Halal Food Authority Shad Muhammad, Assistant Food Controller Lal Bacha, and officers from various departments.
Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Nisar Ahmad emphasized that public health and safety remain the government’s top priority. He instructed all relevant departments to take strict and indiscriminate action against those involved in the production and sale of substandard or hazardous food items, particularly low-quality chips and papar.
He further directed that food quality monitoring be strengthened in schools, colleges, and local markets, with detailed progress reports to be submitted regularly to the Commissioner’s Office.
The Commissioner added that this campaign will continue consistently to ensure the availability of safe and quality food products to the public, warning that strict legal action will be taken against violators.
