Peshawar: The thrilling Table Tennis Championship, held as part of the District Peshawar Inter-Schools Sports Gala, concluded with Government Higher Secondary School Hayatabad emerging as the champions. The team claimed victory over Government Higher Secondary School Hasan Ghari in a gripping final match, while Daniyal was named Best Player of the tournament.
The final, played at the Sports Arena, Qayyum Stadium, showcased an exciting display of skill and sportsmanship. The Hasan Ghari team initially took the lead with impressive stroke play and teamwork, but Hayatabad’s players made a strong comeback to secure the title.
At the closing ceremony, Samiullah, President of the Schools Officers Association, graced the event as the chief guest and distributed trophies among the outstanding players. Other notable attendees included Hafiz Ehsanullah (Principal & Secretary District Table Tennis Committee), Muhammad Bahrullah Jan (Deputy Secretary), Hafeezullah (Ground Incharge), Zahid Aslam, and Muhammad Farooq (Sports Leader).
A total of 23 government schools from District Peshawar participated in the competitions, which aimed to promote sportsmanship and healthy competition among students.
Addressing the ceremony, the chief guest and other speakers emphasized that children are the bright future of the nation, and participation in sports alongside academics is vital for their physical and mental development. They expressed hope that such initiatives will nurture young talent and enable them to bring honor to the country in the years ahead.
