ISLAMABAD :The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Pavilion at the ongoing Pakistan Folk Festival (Lok Mela) 2025 has become one of the major attractions for visitors, highlighting the province’s diverse cultural heritage, traditional crafts, cuisine, and folk artistry. The pavilion, organized under the auspices of the Department of Tourism and Archaeology, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, offers a colorful glimpse into the province’s vibrant traditions and craftsmanship.
The pavilion features stalls of traditional handicrafts, including wood carving, embroidery, handwoven textiles, and jewelry that reflect the artistic excellence of KP’s artisans. Visitors are also enjoying authentic local cuisine prepared by skilled cooks representing various districts of the province, offering dishes that showcase the rich culinary diversity of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Throughout the festival, folk artists and musicians from KP are captivating audiences with live performances of traditional dances, music, and folk songs, adding rhythm and color to the festival atmosphere. These performances not only entertain but also serve as a cultural bridge, connecting visitors from across Pakistan with the living traditions of the province.

Secretary Tourism and Archaeology KP, Dr. Abdul Samad, visited the KP Pavilion and commended the creative efforts of the organizing team and participating artisans. He appreciated the pavilion’s vibrant setup, emphasizing that such platforms play a crucial role in preserving and promoting the province’s cultural identity at the national level.
“The Lok Mela provides an excellent opportunity to celebrate and share our rich cultural legacy with people from all corners of Pakistan,” said Dr. Abdul Samad. “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is home to a wealth of traditions, crafts, and folklore, and our participation in this festival reflects the government’s commitment to promoting cultural tourism and empowering local artisans.”
The Department of Tourism and Archaeology KP continues to participate actively in national and international cultural events to promote tourism and create economic opportunities for artists and craftsmen. The KP Pavilion at Lok Mela 2025 stands as a testament to the province’s enduring heritage and its contribution to Pakistan’s rich cultural tapestry.
