Field Marshal Asim Munir Graces 45th PARA Central Meet Closing Ceremony and Military College Jhelum Centenary

RAWALPINDI: The Closing Ceremony of the 45th Pakistan Army Rifle Association (PARA) Central Meet was held at the Army Marksmanship Unit (AMU), Jhelum. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS), graced the occasion as Chief Guest.

The 45th PARA Central Meet 2025 was conducted from 01 October to 10 November 2025, featuring over 2000 participants from the Pakistan Army, Air Force, Navy, Civil Armed Forces, and provincial rifle associations of Punjab, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, and the Federal Rifle Association. Participants showcased their shooting excellence with great zeal and professionalism.

Pakistan Army clinched the 3rd Inter Services Combat Shooting Championship 2025 by winning all four inter-services matches. Punjab Regiment emerged as the winner of The Unit Firing Proficiency Match (Group-I). Sepoy Muhammad Irfan of the Punjab Regiment secured the title of Master at Arms, while Naib Subedar Umar Farooq of the Army Marksmanship Unit won The Army Hundred Rifle Match Trophy.

Addressing the participants, the COAS lauded their exceptional marksmanship and emphasized that “mastery in shooting must remain a core objective of military training.”

Later, the COAS attended the centenary celebrations of Military College Jhelum (MCJ) as Chief Guest. He inaugurated the Centenary Monument and College Museum, paying tribute to a century of excellence in education, leadership, and discipline. The COAS commended the contributions of Alamgirians in the service of Pakistan and its Armed Forces and laid a floral wreath at Yadgar-e-Shuhada.

Upon arrival, the COAS was received by Commander Rawalpindi Corps and Inspector General Training & Evaluation (IGT&E).
