Peshawar: The Third Qamar Zaman All-Pakistan Junior Squash Championship commenced in Peshawar. The opening ceremony was graced by President of the Provincial Squash Association and Secretary of the Public Health Engineering Department Dawood Khan who formally inaugurated the event.
He was accompanied by Chairman of the Provincial Squash Association and squash legend Qamar Zaman, Association General Secretary Mansoor Zaman, Chief Organizer and Senior Coach of the Directorate of Sports Munawwar Zaman, Abdul Rauf, squash legend Mohibullah Khan Senior, along with other coaches and prominent personalities.
Cash prizes worth hundreds of thousands of rupees have been allocated for the championship. This is the third time that competitions at the All-Pakistan level are being held. The event features competitions in boys’ categories Under-12, Under-13, Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19, while the girls’ categories include Under-15, Under-17 and Under-19.
Qamar Zaman stated that around 300 players from across the country are participating in the event, which will continue until November 24.
