KP Assembly Approves Resolution to Declare Zulfikar Ali Bhutto a National Martyr

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has approved a resolution calling for former Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto to be officially declared a “National Martyr.” The resolution was moved by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Parliamentary Leader Ahmad Kundi.

The resolution pays tribute to Bhutto’s political, democratic, and national services, noting that he laid the foundations of a strong, democratic, and people-centric Pakistan. According to the text, his contributions remain a shining chapter in the country’s history and will always be remembered.

The resolution further recommends that a copy be forwarded to the federal government for formal consideration of the proposal.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahmad Kundi said that Bhutto’s services to the nation are unforgettable and that he provided Pakistan with direction by establishing enduring national and democratic foundations.
