Mardan: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan organized an awareness seminar on “NFC Share and Challenges Faced by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa” at the university’s Football Ground on Monday.
The session featured Mr. Noor Muhammad, Founder of eJirga, an expert in governance and institutional reform, and Prof. Dr. Murad Ali, Chairman Department of Political Science at the University of Malakand, as the keynote speakers.
The seminar aimed to highlight the significance of the National Finance Commission (NFC) Award and discuss the financial and administrative challenges confronting Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, particularly after the merger of the former tribal districts. The speakers delivered insightful presentations on fiscal planning, resource distribution, governance structures, and sustainable development strategies for the region.
Students, faculty members, and researchers actively participated and engaged in a productive discussion on inter-provincial financial disparities, development priorities, and the urgent need for data-driven policymaking.
The speakers emphasized strengthening institutional capacity, improving governance mechanisms, and adopting strategic planning approaches to address the socioeconomic challenges faced by the province.
The university administration appreciated the speakers’ valuable contributions and reaffirmed its commitment to arranging similar awareness sessions in the future to enhance understanding of governance and public policy among students.
