After an 18-year hiatus, Karachi is once again ready to welcome one of the country’s biggest and most prestigious multi-sports events the 35th National Games. The metropolis is gearing up to host more than 11,000 athletes from across Pakistan, marking a historic moment for the city and the nation’s sporting community.
The week-long mega event will run from December 6 to December 13, 2025, with competitions scheduled at 26 different venues across Karachi. A total of 32 sports will be contested, including boxing, football, archery, karate, gymnastics, sailing, squash and many more thrilling disciplines that highlight Pakistan’s diverse sporting talent.
The grand inaugural ceremony, set to take place on December 6 at the National Bank Stadium, promises to be a spectacular celebration of national pride and athletic excellence. Chairman Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, will grace the occasion as the chief guest. A total of 14 teams are participating in this edition, representing regions and institutions from across the country: Sindh, Punjab, Balochistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Jammu & Kashmir as well as teams from Army, Navy, Air Force, WAPDA, HEC, Railways and Police.
Organizers describe the National Games as the country’s most prestigious multi-sports competition, serving as a crucial platform for international selection and showcasing Pakistan’s top athletic talent. With preparations in full swing, Karachi stands ready to deliver a vibrant, secure and memorable sporting spectacle.
As the city opens its arms to athletes from every corner of Pakistan, the 35th National Games symbolize unity, national spirit, and excellence bringing the nation together in a powerful celebration of sportsmanship.
