PESHAWAR: Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) signed an MoU with Planning and Development Department Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to formally launch the PEC Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Placement Program across the major provincial departments of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The signing ceremony was held at P&D Department, Civil Secretariat here the other day, which was graced by Engr Waseem Nazeer, Chairman, Pakistan Engineering Council, and Additional Chief Secretary, P&D Department. The event was also attended by PEC governing body members, PEC officials along with the representatives of different engineering departments.
Under the MoU, the GET Placement Program will be implemented in key departments, including Communication & Works (C&W), Energy & Power, Public Health Engineering, Irrigation, and LGE&RD etc. This collaboration reflects the shared commitment of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and PEC to strengthen professional engineering practices and enhance technical capacity within the public sector.
The PEC Graduate Engineer Trainee (GET) Placement Program – a flagship initiative, modeled after the House Job system for medical graduates, is designed to provide structured, supervised, and hands-on practical training to fresh engineering graduates. The program aims to equip young engineers with the competence, confidence, and professional discipline required for effective integration into the engineering workforce.
