Awam Pakistan Party Celebrates Christmas with Christian Community

Rawalpindi: Former Prime Minister of Pakistan and Central Convener of the Awam Pakistan Party (APP), Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, said that strengthening the economy is essential to ensure national development and a secure future for the younger generation.

Under the auspices of the Awam Pakistan Party, a graceful ceremony was organized in Rawalpindi to celebrate Christmas with the Christian community. The event was attended by a large number of party leaders, workers, and members of the Christian community. Shahid Khaqan Abbasi was the chief guest, accompanied by Chaudhry Inaam Zafar, Hafiz Usman Abbasi, Mehr Liaquat Ali, Sardar Nazir Ahmed Kashmiri, Samina Shoaib, Sheikh Abdul Waheed, Sain Ejaz, Fatima Asif, and others. Tahir Irshad Bhatti hosted the ceremony, while Rukhsana Alexander, Riffat Nawab Din, and Mishal Javed presented Christian hymns.

Addressing the gathering, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said, “We are against the politics of hypocrisy. We have entered practical politics to resolve the problems of the people.” He emphasized that youth are the future of the country and it is the responsibility of the state to provide them with quality education and employment opportunities. He said that a strong economy leads to job creation and ensures that resources reach the people. He also extended heartfelt Christmas greetings to the Christian community.

Commenting on the political situation, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi stated that sentences awarded to political leaders in the past have remained controversial. He said that neither history nor law justifies unjust verdicts, citing the case of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto. He stressed that in the current circumstances, the government and opposition must sit together and jointly work for the country’s progress. He also condemned the unjust treatment of ARY News senior reporter Babar Malik by the police.

Chaudhry Inaam Zafar, while addressing the participants, said that those who sincerely work to resolve public issues will be the true spokespeople of the Awam Pakistan Party. He expressed gratitude to all guests and congratulated Sardar Nazir Ahmed Kashmiri, Samina Shoaib, Riffat Nawab Din, Rukhsana Alexander, and others on the successful organization of the event. He added that, God willing, when Shahid Khaqan Abbasi becomes Prime Minister again, representatives of minority communities, including Christians, will be promoted from local to federal levels according to population.

Members of the Christian community stated that the Awam Pakistan Party represents all segments of society and is committed to resolving public issues on a priority basis. Sardar Nazir Ahmed Kashmiri and Samina Shoaib emphasized that all religions promote humanity and brotherhood.

The ceremony concluded with the cutting of a Christmas cake in an atmosphere of unity and goodwill.
