Bannu: The University of Science & Technology (UST) Bannu successfully organized a three-day Capacity Building Training Program for Heads of Departments (HoDs), Administrative Officers, and staff from December 16 to 18, 2025. The program was arranged by the Office of Research, Innovation & Commercialization (ORIC), UST Bannu, with the aim of strengthening institutional governance and enhancing administrative efficiency.
The opening and closing ceremonies were graced by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Jahanzeb Khan, Vice Chancellor, UST Bannu, as the Chief Guest. Addressing the participants, the Vice Chancellor underscored the importance of continuous professional development for both academic and administrative leadership to ensure transparency, efficiency, and quality service delivery in higher education institutions.
Mr. Goher Rehman, Director Planning & Development, University of Peshawar, served as the Resource Person for the training. He delivered a series of comprehensive lectures and interactive sessions over the three days, focusing on key aspects of university administration and academic governance.
The training covered important topics including Service Statutes and University Rules, Study Leave Regulations, Workload Policy, Examination and Evaluation Rules, maintenance of personal files in public offices, leave account procedures, and administrative challenges faced by department heads along with practical solutions.
Participants actively took part in discussions and shared their professional experiences, making the sessions informative and engaging. The program aimed to enhance understanding of statutory frameworks, improve administrative decision-making, and promote best practices across academic departments and administrative units.
Chief Organizer Dr. Hidayat Ullah Khan, Director ORIC, UST Bannu, expressed his gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for his continued support and encouragement of ORIC initiatives. He also extended special thanks to Mr. Goher Rehman for delivering an insightful lecture series and appreciated the commitment and active participation of all attendees.
Dr. Hidayat Ullah Khan emphasized that such capacity-building initiatives are vital for strengthening institutional systems and fostering a culture of accountability, professionalism, and excellence at UST Bannu. The program concluded successfully with positive feedback from participants, who acknowledged the relevance and practical value of the training.
