Bajaur:An important and comprehensive meeting of the Tribal Union of Journalists (TUJ) was held at a local hotel in Peshawar under the chairmanship of President Hasbanullah. The meeting featured detailed, reasoned and purposeful discussions on organizational matters, journalistic challenges, and issues faced by journalism in the merged districts.
The meeting was attended by General Secretary Muhammad Jameel, Finance Secretary Dildar Hussain, former TUJ President Qazi Fazlullah, senior journalists Haji Abozar Afridi and Muhammad Ayub, renowned journalist and poet Anwarzada Gulyar, along with other members. Participants shared their views on the difficulties faced by journalists in the tribal and merged districts, professional security, and organizational stability.
It was unanimously decided that a series of visits to all press clubs in the merged districts would be initiated to establish direct contact with local journalists. In addition, formal Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed with press clubs of the merged districts, and membership cards will be issued to journalists by the Union.
The meeting also resolved to accelerate activities aimed at making the organization more organized, active, and stronger, and to take practical steps for the effective resolution of journalists’ issues and the protection of their rights.
On this occasion, President Hisbanullah stated that the Tribal Union of Journalists will further strengthen its role in uniting journalists of the merged districts, effectively highlighting their voices, and promoting journalistic values. The meeting concluded in a pleasant and determined atmosphere.
