The delegation comprised TUJ General Secretary Muhammad Jamil, Finance Secretary Dildar Hussain, Vice President Abuzar Afridi, and former President Qazi Fazlullah Khan.
During the visit, in-depth discussions were held on the challenges confronting journalism in the tribal districts, the safety and protection of journalists, professional difficulties, and issues related to organizational stability. Addressing the gathering, TUJ General Secretary Muhammad Jamil and former President Qazi Fazlullah Khan stated that the Tribal Union of Journalists is actively engaged in the field of journalism with renewed hope, fresh resolve, and a well-organized strategy to resolve the problems faced by tribal journalists. They noted that journalists in the tribal districts have endured difficult conditions in the past and continue to shoulder heavy responsibilities today; therefore, it is the need of the hour for journalists in the merged districts to foster discipline and unity within their ranks.
They further said that TUJ journalists have made unparalleled sacrifices for the country’s survival, integrity, and stability, and have always cooperated with the government and institutions in the national interest—and will continue to do so in the future. In the current circumstances, the role of journalists is akin to a bridge, playing a vital part in promoting peace, development, and stability in society.
They emphasized that TUJ members aspire to peace, progress, and prosperity and will not hesitate to make any sacrifice for this cause. However, they also urged the authorities to prioritize resolving the issues faced by journalists in the merged districts and to ensure the protection of their lives and property.
On this occasion, Mohmand Press Club President Saeed Badshah, along with Gul Muhammad, Fauzi Khan, and other members, thanked the TUJ leadership and said that the visit to Mohmand Press Club to inquire about the well-being of tribal journalists amid challenging conditions was a welcome step.
