KP Minister E&T greets newly elected office-bearers of Buner Press Club

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jehan, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the new office-bearers of the District Press Club Buner, expressing best wishes for their future responsibilities.

In his felicitation message to newly elected President Mukhtar Alam Khan, General Secretary Saeed ur Rasheed, Vice President Shabbir Ahmad, Finance Secretary Muhammad Rehman, along with the entire cabinet and governing body members, the provincial minister conveyed his sincere good wishes and hoped for their success in serving the journalist community.

The provincial minister said that journalism is one of the key pillars of a democratic society. He added that professional and responsible journalism not only highlights public issues but also serves as an effective bridge between the government, public institutions and the people.

Appreciating the services of journalists of Buner, he noted that despite difficult circumstances, numerous challenges, and limited resources, journalists of the district have always played a commendable role in public awareness, guidance and social reform with great responsibility.

Syed Fakhar Jehan expressed the hope that the new body of District Press Club Buner would continue to promote journalistic values, principled reporting and transparency while maintaining a positive and proactive role.

He further said that the newly elected cabinet would take practical measures for the welfare of the local journalist community, capacity building and public awareness, while also playing a constructive role in keeping citizens informed about government initiatives, reform agendas and development projects.

The provincial minister assured his full cooperation to the journalist community of Buner and the newly elected office-bearers, reiterating the government’s commitment to promoting responsible journalism and making earnest efforts for resolving the problems faced by journalists.
