Pakistan U-19 defeated Afghanistan U-19 by 133 runs in the tri-nation ODI series by the help of Sameer Minhas’ half-century, Usman Khan’s 43 runs and Umarzeb’s five-wicket performance.
With this win, they made it to the final, which will be played against Zimbabwe U-19 on January 6. Before that, the Pakistan team will play its last league match against Zimbabwe U-19 on Sunday.
This is Pakistan U-19’s second victory in this series against Afghanistan. on Sunday young pakistan thrashe afghanistan by one wicket after an exciting contest, while their match against Zimbabwe was washed out due to rain.
In this match played at Sunrise Sports Club, Pakistan won the toss and batted first and scored 238 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 50 overs.
In reply, Afghanistan were all out for 105 runs in 30.2 overs.
In Pakistan’s innings, Sameer Minhas scored 56 runs with the help of 6 fours and a six. Usman Khan scored 43 runs with the help of three fours and a six. Ali Hassan Baloch played an innings of 39 runs. At one point, Pakistan’s score was 166 runs for two wickets, but the middle order batting, like the senior team, faltered here too and the last seven wickets could add only 63 runs to the score.
For Afghanistan, Salman Khan Ahmadzai and Zeitullah Shaheen took two wickets each.
Captain Mehboob Khan was the top scorer in Afghanistan’s innings with 29 runs.
Fast bowler Umar Zeb bowled well and took 5 wickets for 31 runs. Momin Qamar and Ahmed Hussain took two wickets each.
