PTI Government Has Pushed Peshawar to the Brink of Destruction: Kashif Azam

Staff Reporter
Peshawar: President of the Political Council of Jamaat-e-Islami Peshawar, Kashif Azam, launched a scathing attack on the PTI-led provincial government, stating that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa—particularly Peshawar—has fallen victim to extreme incompetence, corruption, and gross mismanagement. He said that the rulers’ criminal negligence has stripped citizens of their basic right to live, and that remaining silent now is tantamount to collective suicide.

Kashif Azam said that PTI has remained in power for years, yet today Peshawar presents the picture of a city in ruins. Clean drinking water has become scarce, roads are in a state of disrepair, garbage is scattered across streets and neighborhoods, while hospitals and educational institutions are suffering from severe neglect. Meanwhile, the rulers continue to mislead the public with false claims and self-fabricated success stories.

He said that Jamaat-e-Islami is exercising patience and restraint in respect of the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan; however, after Ramadan, a decisive public march will be held in Peshawar, which will prove to be the final nail in the coffin of incompetent rulers. He clarified that this will not be a mere protest, but a full-fledged struggle for the rights of Peshawar.

The President of the Political Council said that the existing outdated and oppressive system serves only the elite, while the common citizen is deliberately pushed into a quagmire of problems. “Change the system” is no longer just a slogan, he said, but has become the roar of the people, and Jamaat-e-Islami will lead this struggle.

In conclusion, Kashif Azam issued a clear warning that if the PTI government still fails to address public issues, the movement will be intensified, and full responsibility for the consequences will rest squarely with the provincial government. He urged the people of Peshawar to come out of their homes, stand with the truth, and take the Haq Do Peshawar Ko movement to its decisive conclusion.
