KARAK: Former Provincial Agriculture Minister Muhammad Sajjad Barakwal MPA and chairman DDAC Khurshid Khattak MPA separately visited Karak district on Tuesday to review social welfare programs and ongoing infrastructure projects.
Barakwal inspected the Child Welfare Home and the Department of Social Welfare, Special Education and Women Empowerment, emphasizing timely and transparent delivery of services to marginalized communities. “Social welfare and child protection agencies are the backbone for society’s vulnerable groups,” he said.
During the visit, Barakwal also helped mediate a historic reconciliation in Ghundi Kalay, ending a 65-year-old family feud through a traditional Jirga. Local residents hailed the agreement as a step toward lasting peace and unity.
Meanwhile, Chairman DDAC Karak Khurshid Khattak MPA inspected the Women and Children Hospital’s renovation, funded by the World Bank and oversaw the completion of the Tibi Khwah Road reconstruction, aimed at improving travel safety and local infrastructure.
