Provincial Minister for Higher Education and Local Government Attends as Chief Guest; RMI roundabout also Inaugurated
Peshawar: Rehman Medical College (RMC), operating under Rehman Medical Institute, formally marked the beginning of the medical education journey of newly admitted MBBS students through a White Coat Ceremony. The event was attended by students, their parents, faculty members, and a large number of distinguished guests.
According to the spokesperson, the chief guest of the ceremony was the Provincial Minister for Higher Education and Local Government, Mr. Meena Khan Afridi, while senior officials of the Higher Education Department were also present on the occasion. The minister appreciated the academic standards of Rehman Medical College and the performance of its faculty, and congratulated parents on their children’s success. He stated that the selected students had been chosen purely on merit from among thousands of applicants.
Addressing the students, the provincial minister said that having an institution like RMC in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa—where academic facilities and training opportunities are available under one roof—was a matter of pride for them.
During the ceremony, faculty members formally presented white coats and stethoscopes to the students, after which the students took an oath to serve patients with honesty, compassion, and professional responsibility.
Senior officials of Rehman Medical Institute and faculty members of RMC were also present at the event. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Rehman Medical College, Professor Dr. Mukhtiar Zaman, said that the college offers a structured mentoring programme to guide students throughout their academic journey. He added that the curriculum has been designed to prepare students for the academic, ethical, and practical challenges of the medical profession.
He further stated that in the recent admissions conducted under Khyber Medical University, Rehman Medical College emerged as the first choice among private medical colleges, reflecting strong confidence in the institution’s academic standards.
On the occasion, CEO Rehman Medical Institute, Mr. Shafique ur Rehman, also addressed the gathering and said that the institution remains committed to providing quality education and producing responsible healthcare professionals, and will continue to serve the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, under the institution’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the provincial minister, along with senior officials of RMI, inaugurated RMI roundabout.
