Bajaur : Deputy Inspector General of Police, Malakand Division, Syed Fida Hassan Shah, paid a one-day visit to Bajaur district, where he conducted a detailed review of anti-crime measures, the overall security situation, and police performance. Upon his arrival, District Police Officer Bajaur Waqas Rafiq, SP Investigation Bajaur Naveed Iqbal, and other police officers accorded him a warm welcome.
At the start of the visit, the DIG Malakand paid tribute at the Martyrs’ Memorial, offered a salute to the fallen heroes, laid floral wreaths, and recorded his remarks in the visitors’ book. He paid rich tribute to the supreme sacrifices of police martyrs, stating that their sacrifices would not go in vain and would always be remembered in golden words in history.
Later, an important meeting regarding anti-crime efforts was held at the DPO Office Bajaur under the chairmanship of the DIG Malakand. The meeting was attended by all DSPs and SHOs of the district. During the meeting, detailed deliberations were held on security challenges, crime prevention, eradication of narcotics, and the provision of prompt and fair justice at the police station level. The DIG issued directives for indiscriminate action against criminals, protection of life and property of the public, and further strengthening of community-friendly policing, emphasizing the need to enhance trust between the police and the public.
The DIG Malakand also appreciated the courageous role of police personnel and local elders in successfully foiling an attack by miscreants on the Kohi Sar Police Post the previous day. On this occasion, commendation certificates and cash rewards were awarded to those elders who stood shoulder to shoulder with the police and thwarted the nefarious designs of terrorists. He stated that mutual cooperation between the police and the public is a strong guarantee for the establishment of law and order, and such brave citizens are a source of pride for the police force.
At the conclusion of the visit, the DIG Malakand lauded the overall performance of Bajaur Police and expressed hope that the force would continue to play an effective role in maintaining peace and order in the district with professional competence, discipline, and public cooperation.
