ABBOTTABAD: A thrilling match of the PCB Inter Club Challenge Cup was played today at Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, featuring two well-known teams of Abbottabad — Al-Shahzad Cricket Club and Abbottabad Gymkhana Cricket Club.
Al-Shahzad Cricket Club won the toss and elected to field first, inviting Abbottabad Gymkhana Cricket Club to bat. Gymkhana managed to score 182 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 30 overs.
Bowlers from Al-Shahzad Cricket Club delivered an outstanding performance. Off-spinner Tayyab-ur-Rehman Ham bowled brilliantly, conceding only 7 runs in 6 overs and claiming 2 crucial wickets. He was well supported by Shahab Alam, who picked up 3 wickets, and Sibt-ul-Hassan, who claimed 2 wickets, keeping constant pressure on the batting side.
In reply, Al-Shahzad Cricket Club displayed solid batting skills and successfully chased the target by scoring 186 runs, securing a well-deserved victory. Fareedullah played a match-winning knock of 73 runs, while Sibt-ul-Hassan contributed a quick 42 runs off 28 balls, playing a vital role in the chase.
Cricket fans and officials praised the excellent performance of Al-Shahzad Cricket Club and congratulated the players on their impressive win.
At the end of the match, President of Al-Shahzad Cricket Club and Secretary of Abbottabad District Cricket Association, Amjad Khan Jadoon, awarded Fareedullah the Man of the Match award for his outstanding performance.
