KARAK: District authorities in Karak district have set clear deadlines to address safety lapses and administrative shortcomings at public bus terminals.
The decisions were taken at a meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sahibzada Samiullah, attended by the Secretary of the Regional Transport Authority and municipal officers from all three tehsils. The meeting reviewed passenger facilities, security arrangements and overall service delivery at bus stands across the district.
It was directed that CCTV cameras at the Lawaghar bus stand in Takht-e-Nasrati tehsil must be installed by Sunday, while fare lists are to be displayed prominently by Wednesday. Fire safety arrangements and a ticket booth at the same terminal have already been put in place.
At Amberi Kalla bus stand, staff shortages have been addressed and the required personnel deployed. Authorities directed that a water tap be installed in the washrooms at Tangori Chowk bus stand by Wednesday to resolve water shortages.
CCTV cameras at Sabirabad bus stand are to be installed by Monday, while a polio vaccination booth at the pickup stand in Amir Shah Market must be set up by Wednesday.
Samiullah directed all concerned officers to ensure strict compliance with the directives and submit progress reports within the stipulated timelines, stressing that the measures are aimed at improving passenger safety and providing better travel facilities to the public.
