PESHAWAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sports and Youth Affairs, Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand, has said that youth are a valuable asset of the country and the provincial government is taking comprehensive measures for their welfare.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held in Peshawar on Wednesday. The meeting was attended by Secretary Sports Muhammad Asif, Director Youth Affairs Dr. Noman Mujahid, Bank of Khyber officials Jawad Tajik and Muhammad Imran, along with other concerned officers.
The Advisor said that in line with the vision of PTI Founder Chairman Imran Khan and under the leadership of Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, the provincial government is committed to creating new employment opportunities for the youth of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During the meeting, officials of the Bank of Khyber and the Sports and Youth Affairs Department briefed the Advisor in detail about the Youth Loan Program, Ehsaas Nawaz Program and Insaf Rozgar Program, including their procedures, facilities, challenges and issues faced during implementation. The participants were also informed about employment opportunities for women under the schemes, particularly in garments, handicrafts and other sectors.
Taj Muhammad Khan Tarand directed the concerned authorities to further intensify awareness campaigns regarding the Youth Loan Scheme and to take immediate steps for redressal of public grievances. He said that the top priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf provincial government is to provide facilities to people at their doorsteps.
He emphasized that the Sports and Youth Affairs Department and the Bank of Khyber should jointly launch extensive awareness drives to educate youth about the effectiveness and procedures of these programs so that maximum number of people could benefit. He also directed that the Grievance Committee be made fully functional to facilitate applicants and resolve technical issues promptly.
The Advisor added that he would soon meet Chief Minister Sohail Afridi to recommend an increase in funds and an extension in the duration of the project to further enhance its impact.
