PESHAWAR: Ms. Uzma Mukkaram (PMS, BS-18) has been posted as Director, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA), and has formally assumed charge of her new responsibilities. Her appointment comes at a critical time when the province continues to face diverse challenges related to natural disasters, climate change impacts, and emergency response management.
With a solid background in public administration and governance, Ms. Uzma Mukkaram has served in various key positions during her career, where she demonstrated professionalism, efficiency, and a strong commitment to public service. Her experience in policy implementation, coordination among departments, and field administration is expected to contribute significantly to enhancing the operational capacity of PDMA.
As Director PDMA, she will be responsible for overseeing disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This includes strengthening coordination with district administrations, line departments, humanitarian organizations, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and effective response to emergencies such as floods, earthquakes, landslides, and other natural or man-made disasters.
