SCCI President, KP Tourism DG Discuss Tourism Conference and Investment

PESHAWAR: President of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Junaid Altaf, held a detailed meeting with Director General of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority, Muhammad Usman Masood, to discuss issues related to tourism promotion and future collaboration in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

During the meeting, extensive discussions were held on the organization of a proposed Tourism Conference, aimed at showcasing the vast tourism potential of the province at national and international levels. Both sides exchanged views on strategies to promote tourism destinations, improve tourist facilities, and attract both local and foreign investment into the tourism sector.

President SCCI Junaid Altaf highlighted the role of the business community in developing sustainable tourism and emphasized that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa possesses immense natural beauty, cultural heritage, and untapped tourism opportunities. He stressed that close coordination between the Sarhad Chamber and the Culture and Tourism Authority is essential to create a conducive environment for investors and to ensure long-term growth of the tourism industry.

Director General Muhammad Usman Masood briefed the SCCI President on the initiatives being undertaken by the Culture and Tourism Authority to enhance tourism infrastructure, promote cultural heritage, and facilitate private-sector investment. He underscored the provincial government’s commitment to positioning Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as a preferred tourism destination by improving connectivity, services, and regulatory frameworks.

Both leaders agreed that joint efforts between the public and private sectors are vital for organizing a successful Tourism Conference that can effectively highlight investment opportunities and strengthen partnerships. They also agreed to continue mutual consultation and coordination to ensure that tourism development contributes meaningfully to economic growth, employment generation, and the positive image of the province.

The meeting concluded with a resolve to work closely for the promotion of tourism, investment, and cultural heritage in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through sustained collaboration and dialogue.
