Bajaur: Under the public agenda of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, the Spring Tree Plantation Campaign 2026 was formally launched in District Bajaur. The campaign was inaugurated by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Bajaur, Shahid Rafiq Gandapur, along with District Forest Officer Bajaur, Muhammad Rashid. Under the initiative, a target of planting 400,000 saplings across the district has been set for the current spring season, aimed at reducing environmental pollution and transforming Bajaur into a greener and more prosperous region.
The inaugural ceremony was held at the Governor Cottage, where officials planted various types of fruit-bearing saplings. Officers and staff of the Forest Department also participated in the event.
Addressing the ceremony, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Shahid Rafiq Gandapur highlighted the importance of trees, stating that plantation efforts play a vital role in maintaining environmental balance and ensure a healthy and safe environment for future generations. He directed the concerned departments to ensure public participation to make the plantation campaign successful in a comprehensive and effective manner.
Later, the Additional Deputy Commissioner distributed different types of saplings among participants and appealed to the public to actively take part in the plantation drive by planting more trees and ensuring their protection, so that the campaign may yield sustainable and positive results.
