Bajaur: The district administration of Bajaur carried out a comprehensive anti-encroachment operation in Khar Bazaar to address public concerns and resolve civic issues on an urgent basis. Acting on the directives of the Deputy Commissioner Bajaur, the operation was conducted under the supervision of Assistant Commissioner (Headquarters) Khar, Dr. Sadiq Ali, with the participation of Additional Assistant Commissioners Arshad Kamal and Muhammad Nisar Khan, Tehsildar Khar Habib-ur-Rehman, and officials of the TMA. According to the administration, illegal encroachments on a natural drainage channel were severely obstructing the flow of rainwater during the ongoing spell of rains, causing serious inconvenience to residents. The issue had also been highlighted on social media.
Using heavy machinery, the administration demolished all illegal structures built over the drainage channel and restored the natural flow of water. During the operation, legal action was initiated under relevant laws, resulting in the arrest of some violators, while others were strictly warned to refrain from such illegal activities in the future.
Meanwhile, on the instructions of the Assistant Commissioner Khar, the Tehsildar took into custody two Dyna vehicles along with their drivers for illegal gravel extraction and excavation in Khar Khwar and presented them before the court of the Assistant Commissioner Khar, from where the accused were sent to jail. In another action, following a public complaint, a popcorn shop in Khar Bazaar was sealed, and the shopkeeper was directed to appear before the office/court of the Assistant Commissioner Khar. Due to obstruction of public movement and inconvenience to the public, orders were also issued to shift the shop from the main bazaar.
