Dera Ismail Khan: A review meeting on the recent anti-polio campaign was held with participation from Commissioner Dera Ismail Khan Division Dawood Khan via video link, chaired by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The meeting assessed campaign performance, identification of left-behind children, security arrangements, and monitoring mechanisms. Commissioner Dawood Khan emphasized coordinated efforts by all agencies to ensure no child is deprived of vaccination.
Other attendees included Regional Police Officer DI Khan, WHO Area Coordinator DI Khan Division, Assistant to Commissioner Sajjad Baloch, and officers from relevant departments. Security officials confirmed that full protection was provided to polio teams.
Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa directed immediate outreach to remaining children and stressed the importance of micro-planning and collaboration among government bodies, international partners, and local communities.
The meeting concluded with an agreement to improve preparations for the next campaign and implement a coordinated action plan to overcome field challenges. Commissioner Dawood Khan also urged parents to vaccinate all children under five to ensure a safe and healthy future.
