PESHAWAR: Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, met with the victorious team of the U-16 National Football Championship, Waziristan Warriors, along with other participating teams on Thursday.
Out of the eight teams competing in the final round of the championship, organized by the Pakistan Army, three were from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and demonstrated commendable performances.
Addressing the young athletes, the Chief Secretary lauded their dedication and achievements, emphasizing the provincial government’s commitment to promoting sports and providing improved facilities for youth. “The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is actively working to enhance sports infrastructure to engage youth in constructive activities,” he stated.
He further announced that the condition of sports grounds in the merged districts would be improved, and players would be supported in participating in international events to showcase their talent on a broader platform.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah distributed prizes and gifts among the players and their coaches, encouraging them to continue striving for excellence in their sporting careers.
