World Teachers’ Day (International Teachers’ Day) is commemorated worldwide on 5th October. This year’s theme is “Recasting teaching as a collaborative profession”
Teachers have been and shall remain beacon lights in our lives as they inspire tomorrow’s leaders, and above all, they make a luminous generation of humans. They enable and ennoble the current generation to fearlessly enter a challenging world with large hearts and broad minds. They, in effect, turn seeds and saplings into tall trees.
A teacher is like a candle; it consumes itself to light the paths of others. Summing the two great thoughts, a teacher has and shall selflessly sow the seeds of knowledge, sprinkle them with love, and patiently nurture their growth to prove tomorrow’s dreams.
To quote Colleen Wilcox: “Teaching is the greatest act of optimism.” The role and responsibility of a teacher is to build a personality that is ready to absorb knowledge coming from all quarters to fashion the rough diamond into a shining gem. A teacher is the “greatest of the artists,” and students are the canvas–when the canvas is before a teacher, they create masterpieces.
A teacher explores the latent talent in every student, coloring their canvas with confidence, self-esteem, and the passion of untiring struggle.
World Teachers’ Day is an opportunity to remember the rights of the teachers’ community and address issues related to them and their profession. This day mainly focuses on their respectable employment, viable working conditions, and financial incentives, which are mostly overlooked.
It is the dire need of the hour to invest in the education sector duly and to resolve the issues they face as a top priority.
By and large, on this very Day, we must support and empower teachers to prosper and have a prosperous nation.
Gratitude to All Teachers, and Happy World Teachers’ Day!
