PESHAWAR: Mohammad Abbas’ brilliant 10-wicket performance led Lahore Whites to a six-wicket win over Multan at the Marghazar Cricket Ground, Islamabad, on the third day of the fifth-round fixture of the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy 2025 on Saturday.
In another decisive match, Bahawalpur defeated Karachi Blues by eight wickets at the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, Peshawar. The remaining three matches of the fifth round are heading toward fourth-day finishes.
At the Marghazar Ground, Multan, resuming on 122 for three in their second innings, were bowled out for 199 in 64.3 overs, with Imran Butt scoring a steady 71 off 151 balls. For Lahore Whites, Mohammad Abbas once again starred with the ball, completing his 14th career 10-wicket haul in first-class cricket and taking his tally to 23 wickets in the ongoing tournament. Chasing 81, Lahore Whites reached the target in 17.3 overs, losing four wickets.
At the Imran Khan Cricket Stadium, Bahawalpur’s Saad Khan struck an unbeaten century (103 off 137 balls) to guide his team to an eight-wicket win over Karachi Blues. Partnering with Mohammad Ammar (70*), Saad shared a 166-run unbroken stand for the third wicket, following his first-innings score of 61.


At the Shoaib Akhtar Cricket Stadium in Rawalpindi, Peshawar led Faisalabad by 106 runs with four wickets in hand at stumps on Day 3. Iftikhar Ahmed remained unbeaten on 54, while Mohammad Haris contributed 38. For Faisalabad, Afaq Afridi claimed three wickets.
At the Abbottabad Cricket Stadium, FATA were made to follow on but showed strong resistance, reaching 284 for four at stumps, thanks to a superb 159 off 150 balls by Khushdil Shah.
In Islamabad, Abbottabad fought back against Sialkot, reaching 331 for eight in their second innings after being asked to follow on. Shahzaib Khan scored his maiden first-class century (131 off 257 balls), while Khalid Usman added a brisk 83.
