Bajaur: In Bajaur, the district administration has taken action against butchers violating the officially notified price list and arrested six butchers in Khar headquarters and adjoining areas.
According to details, acting on public complaints and on the directives of Deputy Commissioner Bajaur Shahid Ali Khan, Assistant Commissioner Khar Amirullah Khan Wazir inspected butcher shops in various markets of Khar headquarters. During the inspection, six butchers were found selling meat at higher prices in violation of the officially issued price list.
According to the administration, the accused butchers were arrested on the spot and shifted to Sub Jail Khar, while other shopkeepers were strictly directed to comply with the official price list.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Assistant Commissioner Khar Amirullah Khan Wazir said that the district administration will continue such actions to ensure the implementation of the official price list and to discourage profiteering. He warned that strict legal action will be taken against any shopkeeper found violating the official price list.
The district administration has also appealed to the public to report any cases of overpricing or violations of the official price list to the relevant authorities so that immediate action can be taken.
