Peshawar: Advocate Masooma Mir, General Secretary of the Human Rights Council Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chapter and member of the Human Rights Committee at Peshawar High Court, has strongly condemned the abduction and brutal killing of Dr. Warda, a woman from Abbottabad, describing the act as “extremely shameful, horrifying, and a clear sign of societal decline.”
In her statement, Advocate Mir said that the abduction and subsequent murder of an educated, talented woman devoted to public service is a matter of grave concern for society at large. She emphasized that Dr. Warda, who hailed from Abbottabad, was a responsible, diligent, and committed professional, yet she was denied even her basic right to protection.
Advocate Mir further warned that the rising incidents of violence, abductions, and killings targeting women in the country are deeply alarming. She urged state institutions to take immediate, serious, and effective measures to prevent such heinous acts in the future.
